Germantown, M.D. – Former Naval Flight Officer and combat aviator Tom Royals, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in Maryland's Sixth Congressional District, announced the strongest fundraising performance in an off-year quarter for any GOP candidate for the seat in 20 years — despite only being in the race for just over two months. Royals raised $160,383 and ended the quarter with more than $100,000 cash-on-hand.
"I am honored and humbled by the outpouring of support for our campaign to send a fighter to Congress to uphold the rights of parents, restore common sense in Washington, and achieve a safer, more prosperous future for every Maryland family," Royals said. "Cathleen and I want to thank all of our supporters, friends, and family who have come together to prove we have the strong base of support we need to win this race. I'm ready to take the values that guided me flying combat missions over Iraq and Afghanistan to Washington to fight for commonsense conservative results."
"Maryland's Sixth Congressional District is being targeted by liberals in Washington who are prepared to spend millions of dollars on false negative attacks to elect another rubber stamp for their disastrous inflation-fueling, soft-on-crime, open-borders and weakness-abroad agenda," said Royals' Campaign Manager Brendan Duffy. "We cannot afford to nominate a candidate without the base of support and message required to win. That is why Maryland families are increasingly rallying around former combat aviator Tom Royals. He is the only Republican candidate who has established a proven ability to raise the resources and inspire the base of grassroots support required to win."
